Joel Philip Ordained to Priesthood

Joel Philip, of the Community of Grace, was ordained to the Sacred Order of Priesthood on Saturday, 9 August 2025, at 3:00 PM (IST) at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Chembumukku, Cochin, India. This marked a momentous milestone in the missionary journey of the community in Dubai as it celebrated its 25th year in the region. The ordination was conferred by His Excellency George Pallipparambil, Bishop of the Diocese of Miao.

The liturgy was graced by the presence of nearly 25 concelebrating priests. We were honoured with the presence of several dignitaries and missionaries distinguished for their service for the Gospel, which added to the spiritual richness of the occasion.

Bishop Pallipparambil delivered the homily, addressing all gathered and especially Br. Joel, encouraging him to proclaim the Gospel and carry out his ministry with 'joy'. The Thanksgiving speech by Br. Joel touched the hearts of many.

The ceremony was further enriched with soul-stirring hymns led by renowned singer and community member Kester, accompanied by his choir. The Litany of Saints, sung in Malayalam, created a deeply moving and prayerful experience for the audience.

The event drew a gathering of nearly 1000 people, including priests, nuns, community members, friends, and relatives, who came together to witness this grace-filled moment. Following the Mass, the gathering at the parish hall gave everyone the chance to personally meet Br. Joel, and receive his first priestly blessings.
